Breaking News...Eviction Ban Extension

Yesterday afternoon Robert Jenrick, the Housing Minister, announced that the ban on evictions which was due to come to an end at midnight on Sunday will be extended for another 4 weeks, until 20 September 2020.

However, that was not the only announcement that he had for the private rented sector.

He also announced that landlords would be required to give tenants 6 months' notice when they wanted possession of their property.

The new notice period will run until the 31 March 2020, although it is not yet clear when this will commence from and having checked the notices on the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government, these have not yet been updated.

This is a constantly evolving situation and we will continue to update as we are provided with new information.
