Popular Cleaning Hacks for Wembley Homeowners

If you’re preparing a property for sale or to let, or simply want to smarten up your own home, here are some helpful cleaning tips. They’ll leave your kitchen and bathroom looking and smelling fresh without the use of harsh chemicals.

Popular Cleaning Hacks for Wembley Homeowners
Microwave
Place a bowl containing water and a few slices of lemon in your microwave. Turn it on to cook for five minutes.
Once it’s done, remove the bowl of water. You’ll find that the grime and foodstuff on the inside of the microwave have been loosened.
Let the hot lemon water cool for a little bit. Dip a clean sponge into the liquid and use it to wipe down the interior of your microwave.
Not only will your microwave look clean, but lingering food odours will be replaced with a zesty, citrus smell.

Sinks and splashbacks
For sparkling sinks and splashbacks, pour a small amount of dishwasher rinse aid onto a cloth.
Wipe across surfaces to remove marks and muck.

Bathroom tiles
This hack targets the grout between bathroom tiles, which can become discoloured or mouldy over time.
Mix baking powder or baking soda (both products work) with water to create a thick paste. Spread the paste evenly on the grout and leave it for an hour.
Gently wash away with clean water and then wipe down with a cloth.

Washing machine
To keep a washing machine in good working order and avoid it developing an unpleasant, mildewy smell, give it a good clean every few months.
Start with the detergent drawer. Soak it in hot, soapy water and use an old toothbrush to scrub away any buildup of powder or detergent.
Then check your washing machine’s instruction manual to see if it has a self-cleaning programme. If it does, follow the guide carefully.
If it doesn’t, pour two cups of white vinegar into the empty washing machine drum and run on a hot setting.
Run an additional hot cycle to rinse away any residue. Once it’s finished, leave the washing machine door open to air for at least an hour.

Meet Abigail

Hello, my name is Abigail, and I am the Grey in Grey & Co. I started working here in 2002 as a Junior Negotiator and have worked my way up the ranks since then. I took over running the company in 2014 and have been enjoying the roller coaster that is leadership ever since.   During my 20 plus years at Grey & Co I have dealt with the sale of over £100,000,000 worth of property and overseen the management of assets worth £250,000,000 for clients around the world.   I also had the pleasure of working with my father, the founder of Grey & Co, for 15 years before he sadly passed away and from him, I learnt the work hard ethic and our values today are still the ones that he founded the company on all those years ago.   Be Remarkable, Be Passionate, Be Humble and Be Better.   As a community centric boutique family agency, you couldn’t find a better partner to take with you on your property journey.
