Six Things People Forget to Pack When They Go on Holiday

Heading off on holiday is always exciting, but it’s easy to forget essential items in the last-minute rush to pack. As we approach the busy holiday months of August and September, here’s a reminder of six commonly forgotten items that could make or break your trip.

Six Things People Forget to Pack When They Go on Holiday
1)     Chargers and adapters
In the age of digital everything, forgetting a charger can feel catastrophic. Make a checklist of all your devices and their chargers. If travelling abroad, remember to pack the appropriate plug adapters.
Top tip: To simplify things, keep all chargers in one bag.

2)  Important documents
Passports, tickets, insurance paperwork and driving licences are essential. But it’s surprising how often these are left behind in the frenzy of departure.
Top tip: Keep all travel documents in a single folder and create digital copies on your phone or in an email in case the physical copies are misplaced.

3)  Medications and first aid
Personal medications can be easily forgotten. Pack enough to last the duration of your trip and a little extra for unforeseen delays.
Top tip: As drug regulations differ from country to country, you may need to take a copy of your prescription or a letter from your doctor explaining your medical condition. Discuss this with your GP or pharmacist before you go.

4)  Toiletries and personal care items
While many hotels provide basic toiletries, they might not have your preferred brands or specific items like contact lens solution or a particular face cream.
Top tip: Make a list of the products you use while doing your morning and evening routines to ensure you pack everything you need.

5)  Weather-appropriate clothing
Weather can be unpredictable. Ensure you have clothing for all potential weather conditions at your destination.
Top tip: Pack a light rain jacket or an extra sweater, just in case.

6)  Snacks and water
Travelling can involve long waits and delays. Having snacks and a bottle of water handy can make the experience more pleasant.
Top tip: Pack a mix of healthy snacks like nuts or dried fruit and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Other often forgotten items include padlocks for cases, sunglasses, and brushes and combs.
We hope you have a fabulous time wherever you’re heading off on holiday this summer.
Thanks for reading, and safe travels.

Meet Abigail

Hello, my name is Abigail, and I am the Grey in Grey & Co. I started working here in 2002 as a Junior Negotiator and have worked my way up the ranks since then. I took over running the company in 2014 and have been enjoying the roller coaster that is leadership ever since.   During my 20 plus years at Grey & Co I have dealt with the sale of over £100,000,000 worth of property and overseen the management of assets worth £250,000,000 for clients around the world.   I also had the pleasure of working with my father, the founder of Grey & Co, for 15 years before he sadly passed away and from him, I learnt the work hard ethic and our values today are still the ones that he founded the company on all those years ago.   Be Remarkable, Be Passionate, Be Humble and Be Better.   As a community centric boutique family agency, you couldn’t find a better partner to take with you on your property journey.
